“#ferguson” is an interactive sculpture about the collective responsibility and accountability of racism and violence in the United States. In order to see the animation play in the zoetrope, you must pull the trigger as the gun is a switch. The animation is a Black boy, Mike Brown, being shot. I want to raise awareness of the “collective hand”. “The collective hand” is the idea that it is everyone’s responsibility to take action when witnessing acts of racism and violence, whether it be engaging in dialogue with a neighbor, protesting, etc. Everything counts.
