Ruby Walks is a city-block-long mural based on Ruby Bridges. I wanted to celebrate the centrality of women of color in national sociopolitical movements; on the other, solicits the spectator to consider how women of color are used by these same movements. I also wanted to commemorate a movement that is vast, complicated, and continuous.

Ruby Walks was presented in coordination with NYC DOT Art and THE POINT Community Development Corporation and can be viewed on the Hunts Point Avenue Bridge between the Bruckner Expressway and Garrison Avenue, Bronx, NY.
